WRITE YOUR BEST BOOK PODCAST

Episode 24

How and When to Use Prologues & Epilogues

There’s an age-old debate on whether or not authors should use prologues (and epilogues). So many authors believe that agents are anti-prologue/epilogue, but that’s not necessarily true, as I found when I sat down with Literary Agent Alice Speilburg to discuss this very topic. Prologues can serve an important role in your manuscript, but they must be done properly and effectively. It’s not so much about IF you should write a prologue but HOW you should write it.

In this episode, you will:

  • Learn what is a prologue and an epilogue
  • Learn what agents really think about prologues (and epilogues)
  • Learn how to properly write and use prologues
  • Lean when not to use prologues and/or epilogues
